LIU Wai Hang

Ticko Liu is an artist, born and raised in Hong Kong. He is recalling a sad story, which is something that shouldn’t happen, especially nowadays. Instead of recalling a madness and ridiculousness, then why not use a ridiculous way to present it? He wants to take the most stupid things seriously, but not deadly seriously.

I start with the random object, the space suit, checklist, kids drawing and the crazy things in my mind and I just put on the canvas. It becomes a mess painting and it ends up with the whole painting was painted into orange and creates a portrait. In the process of painting, I found the best feeling to paint, the feeling of enjoy. You have to enjoy the painting in order to create a good work. I just really love painting very much.
