CHENG Yuen Ho

The work of Cheng Yuen Ho (Tony) generally expresses the primal fear and helplessness of being situated as an individual in this world and visualizes the absurdity of life with storytelling. Cheng is particularly interested in the study of subconsciousness and dark humor, which stands out from his previous art practices, mainly being illustration, screen printing and oil painting.

The Mother of a Decisive Moment

2017

Digital prints on paper, comics book

14.8 × 21cm

This book shows how a single moment in our lives happens by telling a seemingly nonsensical story with sophisticated but explicable reasons that lead to the end ‐ a decisive moment. The whole thing actually make sense but sounds untrustworthy. Maybe we all have to be aware and admit how weird and creepy this world is. Ridiculous things happen everyday.
