Chan Sin Lam (Alysa) is a graphic designer who creates graphic design with digital graphics and typography. She is currently an assistant in Studio Hik. She works with commissioned jobs and self-initiated projects that are related to identity and editorial design, such as visual identity design of the Graduation Show of AVA (2017) and curation of “Bad Grade Show” (2018). Alysa’s chic, bold and modern graphics are inspired by contemporary graphic design development in Korea and the West. Her visual style is also inspired by kitsch and instant internet cultures, such as memes and derivative works online. She targets young audiences in most of her graphic design projects by expressing the young generation’s interests and concerns. She also questions social norms such as standard of beauty and rules, as she believes that graphic designers can express their ideas through their artistic interpretations.
