This is an attempt on the brushwork. Apart from the background, like the arch shape and a solid black colour, the gestural marks also suggested another visual effect that is commonly practised in Chinese art.

This painting applied form and motif of Chinese art. And through this painting, I confirmed my thoughts: Chineseness is complicated and packed. If I were to separate those elements apart, it would be even difficult to discuss.

This painting depicted a snowscape based on my imagination. The view itself has no relation to Chinese cultural context, but the visual elements do. I intended to flatten the objects, which is the practice of Chinese painting. For the paints, I thin it down to enhance the fluidity.
