Totoro is the guardian of the forest from the animation of Hayao Myazal, and people believe that only good children are able to see it. It represents the memories of my childhood, as I used to watch the animations of Hayao Myaza every day, which was a very joyful period back in those days. In the past, I have always wanted to keep a totoro at home, and now I am able to make it by myself, so my wish came true in an alternative way. I would like to share this happiness and naivety with people who like Hayao Myazal as I do.

Growing up requires overcoming many difficulties–every big tree starts with a small seedling. This work captures the moment a seedling starts to grow and breaks the shell that traps it. That amazing moment is frozen and kept forever.

I was able to enjoy lots of game time when I was small. Unlike today’s children, it was common for me to spend a few hours playing in the playground after school. This memory is sweet and treasurable for me, so I would like to hold them in both my hands and my heart.
