對話
Conversation

For me, art making is a way to express myself, to heal my heart and to complete myself inherently. I start my work with a long period of self-talk - a private and internal conversation to explore and understand myself. During this long period of quiescence, I communicate with my inner self, face my weakness, pull myself out of negative emotions and daily chores. In this work, I attempted to capture that moment of silence and illustrate the moment of being comforted. The bed evokes an intimate and private world, the quilt is my shelter when murmuring secrets and fears, the pillow is where I can rest myself. Crocheting connects my childhood and present; doing crochet gives me a sense of integrity. The processes of transforming my old quilt cover into yarn and using it to crochet a pillow conveys how I achieve an internal peace.
