My experiences in Chinese painting have led me to explore the aesthetic beauty in precise brushstrokes and the manifestation of details. It further develops my strong interest in depicting objects. I am fascinated with pinecones, for the regular but organic shapes, as well as a case for holding seeds. Influenced by contemporary Western still life drawing, I exaggerate the proportion of the narrative object to create visual tension. My work aims to express the beauty and the great power of nature as an attempt to evoke the feelings of viewers.
